Xidian University is a public research university in Xi’an, China, that is administered by the Ministry of Education of China. Xidian focuses on electronics and information education and research and has programs covering engineering, computer science, management, economics, liberal arts, and social sciences. In 2019, U.S. News & World Report ranked its computer science at 10th nationally and 30th globally. Xidian is a Chinese Ministry of Education Double First-Class Discipline University, with Double First-Class status in several disciplines. It is also funded by Project 211 and Project 985.

Xidian University provides a comfortable accommodation environment for students. Student accommodations on the north campus are building 6, 15 and 17. The student accommodation on the south campus located on the 6th floor of building 14. The structure of students’ dormitory is unit suites (except building 17), there are three bedrooms (with a combination of furniture) and a public bathroom in each apartment, and also a balcony, commonly used electrical appliances and other equipment. Our student accommodation building also equipped with a duty room and monitor, responsible for student property safety.
The history of the library at Xidian University could trace back to 1949. Xidian has one library on both south and north campus, which share resources. Two libraries, composed of six departments, have a total construction area of about 59,700 square meters, with 5650 seats. By 2014, the library has a collection of 7.36 million books, including 2.61 million copies of paper documents and about 4.75 million electronic documents. The journals in foreign languages total 1300, and there are about 130 databases in Chinese and foreign languages on 45 platforms, covering all the disciplines and specialties of the university. The readership exceeded 1.9 million in 2014.
